Since 1967, we have been at the forefront of promoting disability-inclusive development through a range of impactful initiatives in the fields of health, education, livelihood, humanitarian action, environment, and more. Beyond individual interventions and immediate benefits, we aim to bring about change at the community level and tackle the barriers that persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups face in accessing quality services and participating in society on an equal basis with others.

Our History

The journey of CBM India started over 55 years ago. Since then, we have grown from an organization focused on education, rehabilitation, and eye care to a champion for disability inclusion across the country. Over the years, we’ve impacted millions of lives, and our resolve to ensure that persons with disabilities are fully integrated into every facet of society has never been stronger.

As we look ahead to 2030, we’re expanding our strategy to meet the evolving needs of persons with disabilities and the communities we work with.

With the goal of reaching 80,00,000 people, including 8,00,000 persons with disabilities, by addressing key areas like healthcare, education, livelihoods, humanitarian response, and the environment, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Addressing avoidable impairments, disasters, and disabling environments

by focusing on addressing avoidable blindness and visual impairments in high-need areas, developing and scaling cross-disability programs, improving accessibility, ensuring inclusive disaster preparedness and community resilience, and developing inclusive approaches to address climate change.
