CBM provided need-based rehabilitation services for the flood-affected population.
• Having identified women as the most marginalized victims of the disaster, CBM attempted to reduce gender gaps by establishing a tailoring unit.
• CBM supported these 39 families who lost their ducks in the flood, by providing half a dozen ducks to each household. A total of 240 ducks were distributed.
• We restored livelihood for 22 fishermen by refurbishing their boats. As the fishermen were the
worst affected, hence all of them lost their daily earnings with no means of fishing.

CBM also supported a study on Disability Inclusion in Disaster Risk Reduction through our partner organization – Sanjeevani at Uttarakhand. The most worrying fact revealed was that the data related to people with disability with their socio-economic profile is scarcely available. No systematic study is available to study the post-disaster impact on people with disability in Uttarakhand. One of the most astounding findings of the study were that around 35% of people with disability in Uttarakhand were illiterate with more than 50% without even the disability certificate.
A Community awareness program and skill training on DiDRR (Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction) were also organized which was attended by 25 participants, which included DPO’s, field workers and village volunteers. Ideas like Disable friendly and safe villages were discussed in this forum.
