Over the years, burdened by difficulties strewn across life, Kiran had forgotten how to smile.

Growing up, her father seldom had enough money to fulfil her family’s desires. In fact, he used to take loans for meeting household expenses too.

Adding to this, Kiran had locomotor disability which left her with few options to support her family. She was also mocked by the children at her village. During a time when she searched for the smallest glimpse of kindness, she hit upon a jackpot of it – she came across staff at the Parivartan programme.

They pushed her to participate in the regular programme activities which she soon found herself to be fan of. Through frequent interaction at the Disabled People Organisation (DPO) and by engaging with the inclusive self-help groups, she slowly began to discard her hesitation to mingle.

Meanwhile, she received training on banana & papaya farming, jute bag making, tailoring, self-employment, via skill development & DPO leadership programme.

Now, she aces her tailoring jobs and earns enough to support her family in every way possible – she has become their rock.

Without CBM and PGSS, she would not be where she is now.
